Two Birthdays

We have had a great weekend.  Everyone came to celebrate Kristine's 20th birthday and Adam's 1st birthday, both born on January 14th.  We celebrated on the 15th so everyone could be with us.

The dinner.

The cake.

Only Kristine blew out the candles.  We didn't want baby spit on our pieces of cake.

He really like the candy frog on top.

Opening presents.

He doesn't usually go around without a shirt.  After the cake we just never put one back on.

And I finished his puzzle.

Current Projects

I always seem to be working on something, or somethings.  Here is a look at what is going on right now.

At Thanksgiving time we started on a small barn for the chickens.  And yes, we invite our kids home so they can slave for help us.   Here are Jim, Eric and Lisa.

Here is how it looks today.  The inside is finished, but we haven't been able to paint the rest of the outside yet.  The chickens love it.

They should love it.  This is where they used to live.  The ducks have been tearing the plastic off from it and eating it.  They are worse than goats.

We are building Adam this toy chest for his birthday, minus the heart and the frou frou pillows.

This is how far we are.  Actually we have done quite a bit.  The wood is all planed to uniform thicknesses and cut to length.  We need to glue up the boards to make panels now.

I am making a puppy puzzle for Adam.  Here is the picture from the magazine.

Here is the one I'm making.

It's all cut out.  Now I need to do a little sanding then paint and seal it.

I'm making two more arks, just taking my time.

I still have 3 more Santas to do for this past Christmas, mine, Kristine's and Janae's.

I didn't finish my nativity either.  One wiseman was really rough, the angel needs wings, and there are no animals yet, but I put it out anyway.  I'll stain everything when all is done.  I have to mix the stain and I want them all to be the same color. Jim said he could tell it wasn't done because they don't have any faces.  He is too funny.  That's why I chose the particular nativity.

Adam Holidays

We didn't get to spend Christmas with Eric, Angela and Adam this year.  Eric had to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Night.  Angela was great and sent me these pictures so we could see some of what went on at the Busby House in Logan.

Adam putting out his first Christmas stocking on Christmas Eve.

Riding his new elephant.

Adam with dad.

Love those poppers.  We still have Eric's.

Angela with her beloved gummy frogs.

Eric with his new nerf gun.

Eric apologizing to Adam after hitting him in the diaper with a shot from his new nerf gun.  It hurt Adams feelings that his dad would shoot him.  Now he likes it because he likes to chew on the "bullets".

This is what Angela's family did to my beautiful grandson at their family party.  He is too much a boy to ever be mistaken for a girl.

This is from Halloween, obviously, but I didn't get the pictures until recently.

This is too cute.  Angela made the costumes.  I thought they were great!

The Holidays

We have been having electronics issues for the last couple of weeks.  First my laptop went down on Christmas Day.  It had been having manic issues for the last few weeks, but it finally went over the edge while I was trying to download a new game I got in my stocking.  Then Jim's laptop started going haywire on New Year's Day.  We might need to avoid using our computers on holidays.  Anyway, his laptop won't recognize anything plugged into the USB ports or any wireless Internet connections.  They are both in the shop seeing what can be done for them.  Jim has an itouch so he still gets a lot of Internet things, and I am back to using the old desktop that we still use for business.  And now my ipod is starting to act up occasionally.  Stupid things.  We didn't have them a few years ago, and now we can't live without them.

But we had  nice Christmas and New Years.  Eric, Angela, and Adam visited the week before Christmas.  Eric had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Night.  Todd and Lisa spent Christmas with us.  Then Eric and family visited again just before New Years.  It has been great to have them all here.  We wish that they could have all been here together.  Here are a few pictures of our holidays.

Waiting in the hallway so we could check to see if Santa had come.

And me.  This is why I usually take the pictures, but Janae got hold of the camera.

Here is Jim wearing his Bunka Bubbies tie with pictures of Adam all over it.

And this is what I made Jim for Christmas.  He has so many knickknacks and keepsakes that I thought it would be useful and something that I could make without his help.  I'm so funny.  One out of two isn't bad, right?  Of course the dividers aren't crooked.  It's just that I took the picture on an angle.

I have to end with a picture of one of the cutest babies in the world.
I'll add pictures of his parents next time.  We are all getting together for his and Kristine's birthday, January 14th.  Adam will be one and Kristine won't be a teenager anymore.  We are serving their favorite foods: Kristine=potatoes and gravy
Adam=french fries
Should be a great meal.
